Separate Your Garbage before Disposal
If collection day for non-combustible garbage is the same as for plastic PET bottles, plastic items, hazardous garbage and old paper/clothes, please separate the items according to type and leave some space in between the different types of garbage.
Keep to the Designated Garbage Collection Site
Take your garbage and recyclable resources to the street in front of your home. For group housing, such as apartments and condominiums, please take your garbage out to the designated collection station.
Our “Mitaka City Garbage Services” brochure includes instructions for disposing of garbage and the garbage collection schedule for each community. The pamphlet is in four languages: English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese with furigana. If you would like a copy, you can pick one up free of charge at the Garbage Management Section (Mitaka Municipal Office Bldg. 2, 2F), Civil Affairs Section (Mitaka Municipal Office 1F), municipal office branches, or Mitaka International Society for HOsPitality (MISHOP).
